  • How much is the weight loss program?
    The initial consultation for weight loss is $125. The cost of labs are additional, and will be reviewed at your visit. If injectable medications are prescribed, you can get 3 months of medications for $1200. This includes weekly visits (in-person or virtual) with your provider to review pitfalls and successes. Customized plan, including stress management, nutrition, exercise, and supplementation.
  • I want to lose weight quick; how can I do that?
    There is no magic medication for weight loss. Realistically, with our customized health plan with/without medically assisted weight loss, you can "quickly" lose weight in 3 months. The average weight loss for clients is about 1-2 pounds per week, which can equate to 12-24 pounds lost in 3 months, which is incredible! Additionally, you will gain healthy eating habits and a new perspective on food as a way to nourish your body. You can improve your energy. Exercise is encouraged with any weight-loss program, and with a carefully followed plan, you can lose fat and maintain or gain muscle.
  • What are the benefits of Apex Health DPC's weight loss program?
    1. You can expect professional guidance and continued support. The program is supervised by healthcare professionals to create an individualized plan of care to effectively and sustainably lose weight based off their unique needs and conditions to achieve their goals. 2. Weight loss is not one-size-fits all. Your medical history, dietary preference, and lifestyle are taken into account and customized to meet your needs. 3. The goal of weight loss is to increase awareness of your body, eating, and lifestyle habits to promote sustainable weight loss, rather than a quick fix. Balanced nutrition, portion control, regular physical activity, and behavior modifications are taught, so they can be maintained. 4. Participants can learn how to read food labels and make healthier choices while shopping. This knowledge and decision making benefits will extend beyond the program duration. 5. Weight loss has many benefits, including improvement of blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes and prediabetes, certain cancers, joint pains, improved mental health, decreased anxiety, decreased depression, improved sleep quality, improved energy levels, to name a few. You might start to notice increased confidence, so please stay humble with your newfound weight loss!
  • What types of medications are offered for weight loss?
    Semaglutide (Wegovy and Ozempic) or tirzepatide (Mounjaro) are two potential injectable medications that can be prescribed. These medications have been used for diabetes for many years, but the FDA approved the use of these medications in June 2021. These GLP1 receptor agonists aid in weight loss by appetite suppression, decreasing cravings, and creating a sense of fullness. These injectables are started at the lowest dose and titrated up every few weeks. Oral tablets that can be considered based off individual needs include Contrave, phentermine, and peptides.
  • I'm interested in the weight loss program; what do I do?
    You can book now on the website or by calling/texting us at 352-717-4929. You will be scheduled for an initial 60 minute consultation. Blood work will be drawn either same-day or another day (and then every 3 months). Labs from another provider within 3 months are accepted. An individualized treatment plan will be created. You will meet in-person or virtually every week for weigh-ins, evaluation of nutrition, and assessment. These appointments are helpful in addressing any pitfalls and celebrating successes.
  • What about this excess fat that I am storing? Is there something to target the fat?
    You're in luck; there is "liquid lipo" or mesotherapy, which is designed to target your fat. In just three treatments, spread out over 3 months, you can lose inches off your trouble areas, like abdomen, back, and "love handles."
  • What are Lipotropic injections?
    Lipotropic injection contains a solution of nutrients that are made up of one or more of the following fat burning compounds: choline, inositol, methionine, vitamin B12, vitamin B6. Each of these components is important because they each have a key role in utilizing fat, as fat burners, distributing energy, and removing toxins from the body. The overall effect of lipotropic injections is enhanced weight loss, particularly when they are combined with a healthy diet and exercise program.
  • I cannot drive to the office for appointments; do I still qualify to be a DPC member?
    Apex Health Direct Primary Care is accepting new members in the state of Florida. You do not have to be in driving-distance of the office. Visits can be conducted virtually, as well.
  • Can DPC providers order labs and prescribe my medications?
    At Apex Health Direct Primary Care, we can prescribe medications, order labs, interpret results, and perform other primary care services. Labs can be performed at time of visit, if deemed appropriate, or collected the following day, so you can avoid wait times at traditional lab collections agencies. We can refer for mammograms, colonoscopies, and any radiographs, as necessary.
  • What are the benefits of a membership?
    By removing insurance companies from the equation, this creates a patient-centered environment. Gone are the days of filing claims and co-pays. As a direct primary care member, you will have unlimited access to your board-certified nurse practitioner.
  • What ages do you treat?
    Currently, Apex Health DPC is accepting anyone over the age of 18.
  • What are your qualifications?
    DPC providers can be any licensed professional, doctor, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant, who are certified in primary care. Roshni Graydus is a board certified family nurse practitioner with over 12 years experience in the medical field. Roshni has extensive experience treating chronic and acute conditions for the adult and geriatric population in a primary care setting.
  • What is Direct Primary Care (DPC)?
    Direct Primary Care (DPC) is a subscription-based model that removes the middle-man (insurance company) from the equation. Members get direct access to their provider whenever needed, unhindered, with individualized care without hidden co-pays or surprise bills. Members can expect appointments same-day or within 24 hours. Additionally, urgent and acute visits can be done in-person, via HIPAA-compliant phone, or via HIPAA-compliant video chat. Primary care is all-inclusive to chronic disease management and reversing chronic conditions, acute cares, and general health and wellness.
  • I have Medicare; can I become a DPC member?
    Medicare does not cover DPC fees. Some DPC providers opt-out of Medicare to avoid regulatory requirements. Apex Health Direct Primary Care does not accept Medicare.
  • Will I still need health insurance if I have DPC?
    Members are still advised to carry health insurance to cover services outside the scope of primary care, such as emergency visits, hospitalizations, and specialty visits.
  • What is the cost to become a member?
    The cost of DPC can vary based on location and services offered. Fees can range from $50-$150 per month. Adults living in the same household are eligible for a discounted rate.
  • How is DPC different from traditional primary care?
    With traditional primary care, insurance and companies dictate the number of tasks, ultimately increasing the burden of the provider and support staff, thereby increasing wait-times. DPC eliminates the bureaucracy and focuses on providing high-quality, personalized care with longer appointments and a proactive approach to your health and well-being. The focus is forming a partnership, empowerment, and support to make changes, with a goal of decreasing the use of medications.
  • What other services do you offer?
    Weight loss and men's health services are within the scope of primary care. Apex Health DPC is currently accepting patients for primary care, weight loss, men's health, and mental health (anxiety and depression).
